Social Development department reiterates commitment to bettering SASSA grants

Social Development Minister Sisisi Tolashe has pledged her support and commitment to increasing South African Social Security Company (SASSA) providers through an engagement with the company's senior administrators in a strategic arranging session in Cape Town.
Tolashe on Tuesday expressed her heartfelt congratulations to the numerous social grant beneficiaries, who excelled inside the 2024 matric exams.
From the 724 156 full-time learners who registered for the National Senior Certification (NSC), 572 338 are social grant beneficiaries, symbolizing 81% of the registered pupils during the instruction sector.
These learners realized a commendable pass rate of 86%.

With regards to SASSA programs, Tolashe urged here administration to prioritise enhancing and modernising programs to further improve accessibility, queue management and stop fraud.
Also, the Minister has asked for SASSA Acting CEO, Themba Matlou, to supply a system that seeks to take care of the difficulties of payment channels in rural regions by giving another Answer for payments.
